Brexit deal likened to defeat in war
The Brexit deal obtained from Brussels by Theresa May is similar to conditions that might be imposed on the defeated side in a war, Boris Johnson has said.
His comments came as Mrs May sent senior ministers out around the country to sell her deal ahead of the crucial House of Commons vote next Tuesday.
With three days of the five-day debate complete, Press Association analysis showed that of 163 MPs who have spoken, 27 indicated they will back Mrs May’s deal compared to 122 – including 29 Tories – who will vote against.
Boris Johnson said the proposed deal was like a diktat imposed after a military defeat.
