Prepare for mercury to plunge as low as zero

The Courier & Advertiser (Perth and Perthshire Edition) - - NEWS -

The thousands of hardy souls set to brave the night in their sleeping bags are being advised to wrap up warm as the weather forecast for the weekend is set to deteriorate.

The temperature in Dundee is not due to rise higher than 7C today according to the Met Office, and could sink to 0C overnight.

Coupled with the wind, at some point during the early hours of Sunday morning, the temperature is forecast to feel as cold as -2C.

According to the meteorologists it is likely to be dry, but given Scotland’s unpredicatable climate, waterproof clothing would be recommended.

Counterpart sleepers in Edinburgh will not fare much better, with the mercury only set to reach one or two degrees higher than in Dundee.

Aberdeen is forecast to feel as chilly as Dundee, while in Glasgow there is a chance of evening rain.
