Polar bear pops by for promotion

The Courier’s Perth editorial team had a surprise visitor this week.

A friendly polar bear popped in as part of a promotional tour for a children’s show at Perth Theatre over Christmas.

The show The Polar Bears Go Up! – for ages two to five – runs from Wednesday to Sunday 23 in the theatre’s Joan Knight Studio.

One startled staffer said: “We thought it was a bit cold in the office, as we’ve only just worked out how to turn on the heating, but we weren’t expecting a polar bear to show up.

“But it was great to meet the bear and we can only congratulate her on her choice of reading material.”
