River rescue hero

An unidentified hero played a key role in plucking two stricken canoeists from the freezing River Tay. A full-scale rescue mission had been mounted to save the pair, who had been left desperately clinging to the rail bridge.

The Good Samaritan was not to know that, however, and selflessly put themselves in danger to help others. Often, such deeds can go unrecognised.

We hope not, in this case.
