Blairgowrie hit 11 in rout of Coupar Angus

Blairgowrie hit double figures as they trounced Coupar Angus 11-0.

Gary Axworthy scored five with Darren Neave and Matty Adam getting two each and Ross Bell and Ben Middleton getting the other two.

Scone Thistle closed the gap with Dundee North End to just one point, although they have played two games more after a 3-0 win over Lochee Harp at Farquharson Park.

Martin Strachan scored on 27 minutes and added a penalty two minutes later to give his side a 2-0 interval lead. Kevin Sinclair made it 3-0 with five minutes left.

Dundee Violet were somewhat surprising 6-1 winners over Brechin Vics at Glenesk Park, particularly given the visitors’ victory over Kirrie Thistle last weekend.

Gavin Thomson, Derek Johnstone and Sean Tucker scored before half-time with Cammy Black, Barry Wilson and Kamil Kadela netting in the second half.

Rikki Gillespie got the Vics’ consolation goal.

Newburgh’s excellent home form is now in tatters with two consecutive defeats, albeit to two of the teams above them.

Bathgate were the first team to win at East Shore Park and on Saturday it was Armadale Thistle’s turn as they won 3-1.

Colin Leiper and Gary McLachlan put the visitors in front on 22 and 23 minutes but Craig Robinson pulled a goal back on half-time.

Willie Rodger hit the visitors’ third with 10 minutes left.
