Return for fusion whisky
A fusion of Scotch and Japanese whisky which sold out overnight more than two years ago is making a return to the market.
Fusion whisky and its distillery partner Adelphi were unable to immediately follow up on The Glover’s success due to a scarcity of top quality Japanese spirit with which to make the blend.
“We’re not shy in saying we always wanted to make more of The Glover, though the odds of sourcing another Japanese whisky of that quality and rarity were stacked again us,” said Fusion Whisky director David Moore.
The Glover is named after “Scottish Samurai” Thomas Blake Glover and its release has been timed to coincide with the anniversary of his death.
Alex Bruce, managing director and master blender of Adelphi, said the fusion concept had inspired a number of unique products, with partnerships agreed with distilleries in India, Australia and the Netherlands.
“As well as The Glover, we also produced The E&K, The Brisbane and The Winter Queen, each one celebrating a Scottish hero,” he said. A young Dundee company has sailed away with a new business connection after agreeing a tie-up with the Royal Yachting Association.
Powercases (Scotland) Ltd, which is headed by city businessman Peter Waggott, represents Canadian brand Powercases in Europe which supplies a range of rechargeable lithium-ion power packs and cases.
Mr Waggott said he was delighted his business was now associated with RYA as a member reward partner.
