BOOM time for producers

Organic farmers and food producers are invited to enter the UK’s Best of Organic Market (BOOM) awards.

The awards are open to all organic producers and businesses across a range of categories including fresh produce, dairy, meat and box schemes, and judging will be done purely on taste and quality.

The Best Organic Farmer award, which is open for nominations from industry figures as well as the public, will recognise a farmer who made an exceptional commitment to organic in 2018 through the ways they farm their own land, or on a larger scale through driving innovation and change in the sector.

Judges include food writers, chefs and bloggers.

The competition is run by Soil Association Certification, the UK’s largest organic certification body, and entries close on February 28, with judging taking place between April 30 and May 3, ahead of an awards night on June 26.
