An education that builds up children inside and out...

-

Craigclowan Prep School, set on a hillside to the south of the Fair City of Perth, provides a warm and nurturing environment for boys and girls aged 3-13.

Surrounded by stunning grounds with magnificent views over Perthshire, the school has a distinguished history, a reputation for the highest standards and expectations, and a passion for childhood.

The learning environment delivers a modern and distinctive education within a framework of proven traditional values, effectively balancing the best of old and new in education.

Beginning with the youngest pupils, who join nursery after their third birthday, staff value children’s input in planning activities, engendering curiosity within each child and promoting opportunities to explore, progress and flourish at their own pace.

Grant funding is available for nursery children, and particular attention is paid to the transition period as nursery children begin primary school, to ensure that every child has a happy start.

With a friendly, caring and supportive ethos, the committed staff are able to get to know the children closely and treat them as individuals in all they do. Each child at Craigclowan will have a talent or gift for something; staff regard it as our mission to discover and nurture this to allow them to thrive.

Every pupil is encouraged to achieve their all-round potential, academically, on the sports field and in more than 50 extra-curricular activities on offer. These range from skiing on the school’s own dry ski slope, to art clubs, judo, climbing, kayaking, storytelling, bushcraft skills, mountain biking and fencing.

School is a hive of activity and its outdoor classroom, all-weather training ground, sports fields, Forest School and trim trail are in daily use.

Craigclowan aims to make the most of the world outside the classroom through a wide range of outdoor activities that build confidence and resilience, encourage creativity and problem-solving and ensure rosy cheeks and muddy boots.

When it comes to moving on to senior school, the children attend a wide variety of top UK schools, both north and south of the border, many with scholarships.

The values that staff instil in pupils during their journey through Craigclowan are the qualities that allow them to thrive after they leave.

The school minibus fleet collects children from across the region and, to assist working parents, a breakfast club is open from 7.30am, and free afterschool care is available for all children until 6pm daily.

The school also operates a number of holiday activity camps throughout the year.

Staff would be delighted to see you at their open morning to show you what a Craigclowan education has to offer to your family.

However, every day is an open day, so if you would like to visit at another time, please contact Jennifer Trueland on 01738 626310.

You will be assured of a very warm welcome and will find a school in a stunning location with tremendous spirit.
