Mobility scooters in action
A Perth and Kinross charity is celebrating the delivery of four new mobility scooters.
Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS) Shopmobility purchased the mobility scooters with money awarded by the Tesco Bags of Help Scheme.
PKAVS is a leading local charity that enhances lives and connects communities throughout Perth and Kinross.
The mobility service is located in Canal Street multistory car park. It allows anyone with a mobility problem the loan of electric scooters and both powered and manual wheelchairs to allow them to get out and about in the town centre.
Dave McLellan, shopmobility co-ordinator, was delighted to receive the four new scooters.
He said: “We now have 17 scooters of all shapes and sizes but unfortunately many are over seven years old and need replacing.
“Receiving four brand new scooters is fantastic and I know that our service users will be equally delighted.
“A huge thank you to all the customers that recently voted for shopmobility at the Perth Tesco stores”.
“Without the ongoing support from the local community and companies like Tesco we could not continue to assist as many people as we do.”
Bryan Edwards, Tesco store manager, said: “I am delighted to see the Bags of Help scheme benefitting such a fantastic organisation.”
