Perth Orchid Society will meet at Pitcairngreen Hall, Perth, on Wednesday from 1.30pm.
The speaker will be David Menzies, retired curator of Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens’ orchid collection.
ART
The Perthshire Art Association’s final Syllabus Evening for season 201819 will feature a talk and demonstration by the city’s own superlative printmaker Bruce Shaw, winner of the association award in 2017.
The meeting will be held on Thursday March 28 at 7.30pm in the lecture theatre, Perth Museum and Art Gallery. Admission is free to members and £5 for non-members.
GUILDTOWN Guildtown Community Association is holding a fundraising daffodil tea in the village hall on Friday March 29 from 7.15pm. CHARITY Auchterarder Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Group is holding its annual coffee morning at 10am on Saturday April 13 at the Aytoun Hall.
The entrance fee is £2.50 and there will be a raffle.
COMRIE
Comrie Golf Club will reopen for the summer season with a flag ceremony on Sunday from 1.30pm.
This will be followed by a mixed competition for the Earnoch Shield.
The seniors’ winter prizegiving will take place on Tuesday.
This will be followed by a soup and sandwich lunch at noon and a talk by Crieff golf pro David Murchie.
MUSIC
A record and CD fair will be held at Perth’s Salutation Hotel on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
