Blue Brazil plan to derail Clyde title push

-

Clyde head to Cowdenbeath looking to blow away the Blue Brazil and secure the League Two title.

However, the Fifers are not going to stand back and let their former manager Danny Lennon and his players pick up three points easily.

Cowden manager Gary Bollan said: “Clyde are on a great run and they will be expecting to beat us whilst hoping that Peterhead lose at Queen’s Park.

“They will come out all guns blazing and we will have to handle that.

“They came to our place earlier in the season and tried to blow us away, so we know what to expect.

“They got a goal in front but we dragged ourselves back into the game and got level.

“It finished 1-1 and we were doing most of the pushing in the second half so we know that we can cause them problems.”

The Central Park men go into the game having had their three-match winning run ended last Saturday when they went down 3-2 at Annan.

Bollan was left frustrated, explaining: “The first goal, we feel, was several yards offside and while we should have done better at the second, their third came from a throw-in that should have been ours and was given to Annan.

“We found ourselves three goals down with 20 minutes left and we did not deserve to be.

“However we rallied and scored two good goals through Jordan Allan.

“We were pushing for an equaliser but, unfortunately, we ran out of time.

“Jordan was quiet in the first half and we asked him to show what he could do in the second and he did that.

“Hopefully, he will show Clyde what he is all about for the full game.”

One Blue Brazil player who also found the net in the past week was on-loan Celtic defender Robbie Deas, who hit the winner for the Parkhead club in their 3-2 success over Rangers in the Glasgow Cup on Tuesday night.

Deas’ goal was a spectacular volley in injury-time with Bollan saying: “It was a great goal to win a cup.

“I am delighted for Robbie as he has done well for us this season.”

Jason Talbot will miss out with injury.
