Morrison secures new one-year deal

-

Dunfermline defender Stuart Morrison has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 20-year-old has been with the Pars since the age of eight and made his full and league debuts for the East End Park outfit this season.

The stopper enjoyed a successful loan spell with Edinburgh City in the previous campaign and is highly-rated by the Fifers.

Morrison was capped five times by Scotland under-19s in 2017 and can be expected to play a bigger role with Dunfermline next term as manager Stevie Crawford copes with a reduced budget.

Crawford, who has so far signed Ryan Dow and Aaron Comrie, said: “The budget is what it is.

“I’ll be judged on results, I know that.

“Money doesn’t guarantee you anything. It can help but can also be a hindrance if it is not used in the correct manner.

“We need to try and use every resource we can to get the best from the budget that we have got.

“I can’t guarantee that kids are going to win us things but what they will do is give a freshness and an honesty.

“The other players we are now bringing to the club, we need to see them leading the younger ones and challenging them.”
