Dedicated

Bubblegum pop song Call Me Maybe commanded 2012 with its unbelievably catchy chorus and recollections of a teenage crush.

Now Carly Rae Jepsen returns with her fourth album Dedicated. She’s kept the pop but ditched the bubblegum.

Where Jepsen previously had you singing into your hairbrush, opening track Julien has a disco groove running under the ode to infatuated love.

The star tweeted it was “the song that taught me the heart and direction of this album”.

For Sure and Automatically In Love are the perfect dancepop songs for the summer, although towards the end of the album the constant crooning of love does become a tad tedious.

Four tracks have already been released from the 15-track album – but there are plenty more surprises in there for fans.
