Chamber president appointed

-

Fife Chamber of Commerce appointed Brian Horisk as its new president at its annual general meeting yesterday.

Mr Horisk is a director of Cupar-based software firm Horisk Leslie and previously held the position of vicepresident of the chamber.

He takes over the role from Peter Southcott, who held the position for three years.

Mr Horisk said: “My time as Peter’s vice-president has been extremely rewarding and I believe it has prepared me well in terms of leading a determined, ambitious and forwardlooking chamber.

“Our chamber goes from strength to strength and I look forward to working more closely with the chamber team, to help further grow and develop the chamber for the benefit of the wider business community in Fife.”

Five new board directors were also appointed – Colin Brown from Burness Paull LLP, Heather Stuart from Fife Cultural Trust, Iain Haywood from Rollos, Wicus Van Bijon from Business Doctors and Carl Hodson from Seescape.

More than 70 people attended the AGM, where they were addressed by Nora Senior, former president of both the British and Scottish Chambers of Commerce.
