‘Stellar’ mural will be part of cinema’s luxury upgrade

A Tayside cinema is to get a state-of-the-art upgrade.

The Odeon in Dundee’s Douglas area will be transformed into a Luxe cinema, featuring reclining seats and an immersive iSense screen.

The decor of the building will also be enhanced, with what the company claims will be a “stellar comic mural inspired by the city”.

The cinema will retain its 10 screens but one will be upgraded to a 171-seat iSense screen, taller than a double decker bus and 13.8 metres in width.

The catering will be enhanced and a new Oscar’s bar introduced. The cinema’s transformation is slated to be complete in late November and it will remain open during the project work.
