Trust fined over donations

A trust that provided donations to the Scottish Conservative party has been fined by the Electoral Commission.

The Scottish Unionist Association Trust (SUAT) received three separate fines totalling £1,800 following an investigation.

It was given a £1,300 fine for failing to notify the commission of political contributions made as an unincorporated association and two £250 fines for failing to report donations as a members’ association.

The SUAT accepted the commission’s findings.
