Morrison in for Dabrowski after keeper cracks cheek

-

In-form Cowdenbeath head to Queen’s Park and Central Park manager Gary Bollan will plug the gap in his team caused by the absence of on-loan Hibs goalkeeper Kevin Dabrowski by bringing in Motherwell goalkeeper Peter Morrison on an emergency loan.

Dabrowski suffered a fractured cheekbone in last weekend’s 3-0 win at Stenhousemuir and Bollan has acted quickly to snap-up Morrison, who spent part of last season with Albion Rovers.

The Blue Brazil boss said: “Kevin will be out for six weeks, so I am delighted to get PJ in. He knows this league well after his time at the Rovers and that will help him settle in quickly.”

After three consecutive victories Bollan said: “I am pleased with where we are in the table and that we showed that we could win away from home with that result at Ochilview. We played well, scored three good goals, especially the first one from Craig Barr, and deserved that success with the only disappointment being the injury to Kevin.

“It is now about building further momentum. We are sitting just behind Cove Rangers and Edinburgh City. All the talk will be about those two challenging for the title, but I am happy for us to be flying under the radar.

“The longer we keep holding on their coat-tails the longer we will be in the top four.”

Bollan added: “Queen’s Park are always a strong team at home where they try to play expansive football on the big Hampden pitch. It is always a terrific venue to go to and it is good that we are going there feeling good.

“They showed a lot of resilience last weekend to come back late on and get a draw against Albion Rovers, so we need to be prepared to put a hard shift in.”

Michael Herd misses out through injury, with on-loan Hearts midfielder Connor Smith on international duty with Scotland under-17s.
