An operation will be carried out to sweep an Angus beauty spot following the discovery of live ammunition. An underwater metal detector will be used at Keptie Pond in Arbroath to ease safety fears and discover if anything else is lurking beneath the surface. A cache of up to 50 rounds of ammunition was recovered from the pond just days ago. The rounds appeared to be 5.56mm Nato standard type used in the SA80, the standard issue service rifle used by the British armed forces since 1987.
