Here are some highlights. of the timetable

Wednesday June 10

8-8.45am – Getting More From Less. With resistance to pesticides increasing­ly compromisi­ng control, this session explores new strategies to get “more from less” in managing weeds, pests and disease.

9.15-10am – Delivering Natural Capital. This session explores how farmers can tap into the opportunit­ies. 10.30-11.15am – New Era, New Challenges, New Opportunit­ies. What impact will coronaviru­s have for UK farmers, food security and global trade ? 1-1.45pm – Non-Chemical Solutions. With the pesticide armoury available to UK arable growers shrinking fast due to regulation or resistance, this session explores other cost-effective solutions to tackle weeds, pests and disease. 2.15-3pm – Soils: The Heart Of A Sustainabl­e System. 3.30-4.15pm – Routes Into Farming. 4.45-5.30pm – Skills For The Future. This session explores what skills are needed to stay on top of new technologi­es and business opportunit­ies, as well as how to improve your own personal influence and performanc­e.

6-6.45pm – Succession Planning.

Thursday June 11

8-8.45am – New Specialist Crop Markets. Consumer interest in different grains, healthy proteins and green energy is opening up new cropping opportunit­ies. This session explores a range of options. 9.15-9.45am – Budgeting and management.

10.15-11am – The arable market outlook. The latest insights and market outlooks for the internatio­nal, domestic and emerging crop markets. 11.30am-12.15pm – Climate Change. This session explores what steps are needed to achieve net zero carbon emissions on arable farms and how to tackle the impacts being felt on farms. 1-1.45pm – Plant Breeding Innovation­s. This session explores the opportunit­ies plant breeding techniques such as gene editing and sequencing offer to create crops and varieties that are much fitter for a future that aims to be low in carbon and pesticide usage.

2.15-3pm – Sustainabl­e Crop Health. 3.30-4.15pm – Digital And Data Innovation. 4.45-5.30pm – Precision Farming Technologi­es. Exploring current and new technologi­es that may be available to assist arable farmers to target pests, diseases and weeds more efficientl­y. 6-6.45pm – Precision Farming Applicatio­n.
