Muirhead rink add thumping win

Perthshire curler Eve Muirhead and her team posted another big win at the Champions Cup in Calgary yesterday.

Having stunned Olympic gold medallist Anna Hasselborg on Thursday night, Muirhead and her colleagues Lauren Gray, Vicky Wright and Jennifer Dodds rallied from 3-1 down to trounce Swiss skip Silvana Tirinzoni 9-3.

A Scottish two plus three singles turned that 3-1 deficit into a handy lead, which they then consolidated with a winning three at the seventh end.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh’s world silver medallist Bruce Mouat and his rink also made it two wins out of two after counting four stones at the fifth end as they recovered from 3-1 behind to beat Canadian Mike McEwen 7-4.
