Barr urging Cowden to be more consistent

-

Cowdenbeath captain Craig Barr has called for greater consistency from the Blue Brazil ahead of today’s clash with Stirling Albion.

The Central Park side sit eighth in League Two, two points ahead of second-bottom Annan and eight in front of Brechin. However, Barr is not resting until Gary Bollan’s side are producing week in and week out.

He said: “I think it has been vital we have picked up four points from the last couple of games.

“As much as it is always good to go on a winning run, it can sometimes feel even better when you manage to break a losing one.

“Hitting a level of consistency is what every good team needs and it is something we are certainly striving towards.

“There is so much at stake for every team now, but we know we can go into the Stirling game confident on the back of two decent results.

“Stirling have always been a good side, so we know what we are getting.

“They have a big squad and made a wee push this year.

“Generally speaking, we have a good record at home, so we want to make it as difficult for visiting teams as we can.

“Week by week I think we have gradually been improving in terms of chances created.

“The number of chances being created shows a small step forward and whilst we only took one of them, we can be pleased that we are making more.

“We can build on that and look to secure points consistently.”

Barr added: “It has been a very demanding schedule but I have stayed injury free, which is great.”

The Blue Brazil have no fresh injury worries with Ross Clarke remaining out long term.
