Glenrothes can’t wait to take on Clydebank

-

Glenrothes face one of their biggest games since they moved from the Junior ranks as they entertain West of Scotland League heavyweights Clydebank in the Challenge Cup third round at Warout Stadium today.

Co-manager John Martin said: “We have maybe three or four missing through injury for the game, but we are still really looking forward to welcoming Clydebank to Warout Stadium.

“They have a big travelling support so it should be a great atmosphere. We will go into the game as underdogs, but we will give it our best shot and see where it takes us.”

Luncarty welcome Renfrew to Brownlands Park. Manager Robbie Holden wasn’t sure whether his glass was half full or half empty after last weekend’s 2-2 draw at home to Oakley United and knows his side can’t give the Glasgow side the same chances they gave Oakley. Scott Mollison, Blair Smart, Kieran Donald, Chris Anton and Richie Montgomery will all miss out through injury.

Jeanfield Swifts welcome Division Four leaders Finnart to Riverside.

The boot is on the other foot for Ross Gunnion’s side as they go into the game as favourites rather than the underdogs.

However, Finnart will be no pushover as they lead their league by three points from Kilsyth Rangers having won 13 of their 19 games.

The other tie in the Challenge Cup to involve East of Scotland League sides is at Central Park where Lochore Welfare take on Dundonald Bluebell in what is likely to be a keenly contested Fife derby

With Jeanfield Swifts in cup action, three points in the East of Scotland League Premier Division for Crossgates against Whitehill Welfare at Humbug Park would see Alan Campbell’s men climb above their rivals from Perth into the top six.

Campbell is expected to have the same squad that was on duty last weekend.

Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts will be looking to take maximum points from the visit of Dunbar United and, at the same time, go above the visitors and into the top 10.

Hill of Beath Hawthorn face a tricky trip to the capital to take on Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale at Ainslie Park.

Haws boss Jason Dair is expected to have the same squad that surrendered the lead twice at Jeanfield last weekend before going down to a stoppage-time winner.

In First Division Conference A, Kennoway Star Hearts welcome Dunipace to Treaton Park.

Daryl Falconer and Ross Balmor are back from suspension, but skipper Ally Griffin is suspended. Brooklyn Mair has been transfer listed at his own request.

Rosyth face a tough trip to Peffermill to take on second-placed Leith Athletic. Skipper Garry Leighton returns, but both Calum Strang and Ryan McDonald are suspended

In Conference B, Lochgelly Albert need to take maximum points from the trip to Dalkeith to take on Edinburgh South if they are to stand any chance of avoiding relegation, while Oakley United are away to Hawick.

The Oakley squad is somewhat stretched, but both Daniel Kelly and Jacob Macaloney came through their returns from injury last weekend.

Kinnoull welcome Burntisland Shipyard in the King Cup second round. Mark Smith has returned to Tulloch Park and is on fire in front of goal with four goals from his first two games. The Perth side are expected to have the same squad that thrashed Newburgh, while Shipyard will have the same squad that beat Lochgelly Albert.

In the McBookie.Com Midlands League, Coupar Angus are away to leaders East Craigie, while Blairgowrie are also on their travels to Dundee St James.

Letham are in Dundee to face Violet and Tayport are away to Kirrie Thistle.

Scone head to Forfar United in the Quest Precision Engineering Cup.
