Blair and Coupar will pitch into derby switch

-

Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus contest a Midlands League derby this afternoon but, due to the work being carried out on Davie Park, the game is being played at Strathmore Park, the home of Forfar West End.

Last week’s 5-2 defeat by Broughty Athletic was a little unfair on Mark Brash’s men with Broughty scoring three goals late on. But once again Blair picked up a couple of injuries and Brash is down to the bare bones and will need to bring in a couple of trialists to the matchday squad.

Coupar Angus went down 4-1 at home to Dundee St James last weekend and are expected to have a similar squad available for this afternoon’s clash.

Letham will be without Benn Blyth, Stephen Mann and Sean Ferrie who are all suspended, for the visit of Arbroath Vics to Seven Acres but will still have a 17-man squad available.

Vics travel without Jonathan Bastow, also suspended, but it is hoped that they will be able to welcome at least some of those who missed the win over Kirriemuir Thistle last weekend.

The game between Dundee North End and Scone Thistle at North End Park has been postponed due to Covid issues within the Scone squad.

It had looked like Penicuik Athletic and Tranent were running away at the top of the East of Scotland Premier Division but things have closed up a little and Jeanfield Swifts have a real chance to tighten things further as they face Penicuik Athletic at Riverside.

Swifts are on a rich run of form with new signing Dayle Robertson in prolific form in front of goal and go into the game confident of putting a dent in the title hopes of the leaders.

Swifts boss Ross Gunnion is expected to have the same squad that won at Albyn Park last time out.

Crossgates Primrose, who have been out of action for three weeks due to postponements, are scheduled to face Musselburgh Athletic at

Humbug Park this afternoon.

Musselburgh are on a good run under Joe Hamill and will be looking to consolidate their fourth position in the table, although they have played more games than those around them.

A win for Alan Campbell’s Crossgates will see them in striking distance of the visitors.

Campbell is expected to have a full squad available after the postponed game allowed healing time for a few niggles.

Dundonald Bluebell have signed experienced goalkeeper Jordan Miller from Thornton Hibs and the former Kelty Hearts and Lochee United keeper comes into manager Kevin Fotheringham’s squad for the trip to promotionchasing Linlithgow Rose.

Bluebell’s season has been hit by injuries and although Fotheringham is beginning to get something like a full squad available they will make the trip without Chris Gay, Kyle Allison, James Lennox and Scott Gilfillan. Colin Wilson is extremely doubtful.

In Conference B, Kinnoull boss Alan Cameron is delighted to have a squad of 18 available for the visit of Easthouses Lily to Tulloch Park after a number of weeks when he has struggled with a lengthy injury list.

It will be Kinnoull’s first league game for nearly a month and the Perth side are desperate to get back to league action to try to secure their top-seven place and chase down league leaders Glenrothes.

Like Kinnoull, Luncarty are also desperate to get back in action after a number of cup games and postponements, a combination that has seen Robbie Holden’s men drop to seventh place, 12 points behind Glenrothes but with four games in hand.

This afternoon Luncarty travel to Purves Park to take on Lochgelly Albert with the usual list of long-term injuries but otherwise everybody else is available.

Albert are expected to have the same squad available that was beaten 4-1 at Oakley United.
