DUNDUFF AND DISTRICT. President Anne Marshall welcomed members and led the congratula­tions for Anne Wiltshire, Beverley Bryson, June Patterson and Anne Marshall on their successes at the Federation Show. Members made tiaras to wear at the coronation tea provided by Anne Marshall, Anne Wiltshire and Beverley Bryson and took part in royal quizzes. Competitio­ns: crown – 1 A Wiltshire, 2 B Bryson; trifle – 1 M Brown, 2 B Bryson; flower of the month – M Ross.

FALKLAND AND DISTRICT. President Ina Robertson introduced Polly Murray from Smiles, who gave a talk and slide show on low carb, high fat healthy living. Competitio­ns: flapjacks – 1 L Hamilton, 2 M Pullar; flower of the month – 1 M Brunton, 2 L Hamilton, 3 P Kilbane.

CAMERON. President Ann Morrison welcomed David Strachan who gave a talk on the restoratio­n of St Andrews bandstand. Margaret Kirkcaldy gave thanks. Competitio­ns: flower of month – 1 M Fraser, 2 M Cameron; fruit loaf – 1 M Robertson, 2 B Mclaren, 3 M Kirkcaldy.

LONGFORGAN AND DISTRICT. Alan Sands gave a talk about his business at Abernyte, Southfield Farm Flowers. Competitio­ns: flower arrangemen­t in a cup – 1 G Christie, 2 A Weir, 3 I Davidson; flower of the month – I Davidson. Trophies for the most points over the year: Elizabeth Donaldson trophy (Housewives) and the Agnes Scott (Handcrafts) trophy – Anne Weir. Flower of the month salver and Rose Bowl for bulbs – Sandra Boe. At the AGM, Inchture members acted as tellers and Sheila Boyack was elected to join the committee.

NEWTYLE. Evelyn Stirton presided and members did ceramic painting led by Margaret’s Ceramics. Competitio­ns: herbs pot – 1 C Wilson, 2 J Fotheringh­am; chocolate muffins – 1 J Fotheringh­am, 2 C Wilson, 3 E Stirton; Jubilee Cup for annual overall points – J Fotheringh­am.

CARNBO. Heather Dennis presided over the AGM and welcomed Sharon Buchanan and

Trish Greer from Powmill as tellers. Committee: H Dennis, L Wilsher, D Fyfe, L Band, D Mitchell, S Reid, J Hallgren, F Douglas and G Paterson. A cookery quiz and mystery book swap was held. Competitio­ns: flower of the month – 1 J Brunton, 2 C Mearns; carrot cake muffins, Ann Bernard Trophy – 1 L Band, 2 A Petherick.

GLENFARG. President Linda Martin welcomed tellers Elizabeth Taylor and Evelyn Sutherland from Abernethy. Members’ knitted and crocheted blankets have been handed in at Kinross Library. A craft group was held in the village hall. Linda displayed willow garden ornaments she had made at an SWI Willow Weaving course and Lillias Johnston displayed antique items. CRAIGROTHI­E. President Catherine Williamson welcomed visitors from Cults, Auchtermuc­hty, Dairsie, Balmullo and Abdie. At the federation show Craigrothi­e won 1st place for the Inter-institute; the Stratton Trophy for Best Exhibit in Floral Art, Moira Hall; the Mrs Brown, Mrs Mcdonald Mrs Rodgers Shield for most points children 8-14 years, Ashlyn Graham; the Mrs Brown, Mrs Mcdonald Mrs Rodgers Shield for most points children under 7, Emily Mcdougall; Gascoigne Cup for most points for handcrafts, shared by Joyce Macrae; and the Thomson Cup for most points in the show, shared by Joyce Macrae. Catherine introduced Vanessa from Sew Me, who gave a talk on the history of the WVS. Competitio­ns: knitted corsage for the Cathy Dewar Salver – 1 A Light, 2 L Palmer; flower of the month – M Hall.
