We weren’t at our best again. It’s very disappointing to get so close and not over the line. Bowling to MS Dhoni and Yuvraj can be difficult.Your margin for error is quite small, you have to try to break the partnership.We showed a lot of fight.We believed we could chase it down.There’s a tremendous amount of belief but we didn’t quite have the skill.

It was very important to forget the last game.The one-day game has changed quite a bit and it’s very important to try to keep going for wickets and, yes, boundaries are going to go here and there, but you always have that man inside the circle. We got England’s big players out in the middle overs so it is always important to keep taking wickets.

It shows why England should chase.You can have no complaints with that batting. The spinners bowled well for India but the game was won and lost in the death bowling. England went for 120, India didn’t. Magnificent effort from England’s batsmen, work to do for the bowlers – but we already knew that.
Yuvraj Singh
During the domestic season I’ve been hitting the ball really well and I’ve been working really hard on my fitness. I think the results showed today. It was important to start again after losing three early wickets and I decided to hit the ball down the ground rather than square of the wicket.Then once we got the partnership going, we attacked at the right time.

India got just too many runs and England’s bowling wasn’t focused enough on Yuvraj Singh and I suppose England just lost wickets at the wrong time. It’s unfair to blame England’s death bowlers but they still haven’t got that right. Woakes is good but they haven’t got another person that they can really rely on.

Getting 381 from 25-3 was outstanding.We knew we’d get wickets at some stage or the other but we bowled at the more difficult part of the day.The guys showed really good character.We pulled it back nicely in the end. Having won the series, just before the Champions Trophy, the key will be for us to express ourselves and work out what is the best opening partnership.
