England get their series against South Africa off to a flyer
ADELAIDE, Perth and Townsville will be England’s destinations for warm-up matches as they prepare for this winter’s Ashes series.
The Three Lions are expected to arrive in Perth at the start of November, and will take on a Western Australia XI in a two-day red ball match at the Waca.
England will play five tour matches in total – three ahead of the first Test, one between the second and third Tests and a one-day tour match in Sydney ahead of the ODI series in early 2018.
After the first match in Western Australia, which begins on November 4, the England squad will travel to Adelaide to take on some of Australia’s rising stars in a four-day, day-night match against the Cricket Australia XI at Adelaide Oval from November 8.
Townsville’s Tony Ireland Stadium will then host England in a second fourday match from November 15, again taking on a CA XI, ahead of the First Test at the Gabba which starts on November 23. England tour matches: November 4: Two-day red ball match v WA XI,Waca
