Why cull over­seas club men?

I UN­DER­STAND the ECB clamped down on over­seas am­a­teurs at club level this year, to help pro­mote more UK-born play­ers.

All well and good, but it’s a shame the coun­ties are do­ing the op­po­site.

Sadly it ac­tu­ally had a detri­men­tal ef­fect. The stan­dard was the worst I’ve wit­nessed for years. Some of the UK-born play­ers who were se­lected in place of the over­seas am­a­teurs just didn’t cut the mus­tard. MARK GRA­HAM
