Ace Jordan signs on again with new Hove deal
CHRIS Jordan will call Sussex home until at least the end of 2019 after signing a new contract with the county.
All-rounder Jordan, who has appeared for England in all formats, enjoyed a successful 2017, taking 52 wickets and scoring 483 runs in his 25 matches across the County Championship and T20 Blast.
That included the 29-yearold making his highest first-class score of 147 during Sussex’s final game of the Championship season against Nottinghamshire while he also finished as the club’s secondhighest wicket-taker in the tournament.
Now Jordan is looking ahead to a successful few years at Hove.
He said: “I’m delighted to be extending my stay here at a club I have grown to love. There is a lot of talent here and I’m looking forward to winning trophies with this great club.”
Jordan has played eight Tests, 31 ODIs and 26 T20s for England since making his international debut in September 2013.
He was Sussex’s leading wicket-taker in the 2017 T20 Blast, claiming 16 dismissals in 14 matches.
Keith Greenfield, Sussex’s Director of Cricket, expressed his pleasure at Jordan’s decision to extend his time at the club: “It’s fantastic that CJ has signed a contract extension, further committing his future to the club.
“He is becoming a key, senior figure in the squad and is playing an important role in developing the younger bowling group.”
