Ri­valry re­united in BT com­men­tary box

MICHAEL Vaughan and Ricky Ponting will be re­united this win­ter with the for­mer cap­tains team­ing up in the BT Sport com­men­tary box.

BT Sport have the rights to the Ashes and have signed up leg­ends Ponting and Vaughan, who led Aus­tralia and Eng­land re­spec­tively in Ashes se­ries, as well as a num­ber of other star pun­dits to travel Down Un­der.

All-time crick­et­ing greats from both Eng­land and Aus­tralia, in­clud­ing Ge­of­frey Boy­cott and Adam Gilchrist will be joined in the com­men­tary box by three­time Ashes win­ner Graeme Swann and Damien Flem­ing, who won the Ashes twice with Aus­tralia, along­side award­win­ning broad­caster and TCP reg­u­lar Ali­son Mitchell. The cov­er­age will be pre­sented by Matt Smith.

Si­mon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “This is an ac­tion packed and ex­cit­ing win­ter for BT Sport with a vast amount of live sport to show, in­clud­ing the big­gest event in the cricket cal­en­dar, the Ashes.

“Our view­ers will en­joy the anal­y­sis of both English and Aus­tralian cricket leg­ends all of who have played in the Ashes and who will be fol­low­ing events as they un­fold in Aus­tralia.”

The Women’s Ashes se­ries Down Un­der will also be shown live by BT Sport, start­ing on Sun­day with three ODIs, the first ever women’s day/night Test at the North Syd­ney Oval and three T20 matches.
