The Last

Bat you bought/used? Kookaburra Ghost. I had two but they both broke and I have a couple more that are alright but I have some new bats coming in the New Year. Song you downloaded? Mama by Jonas Blue featuring William Singe is a song I like a lot at the moment and listen to on Spotify. Five-wicket haul or century? Last year I scored a hundred for Hampshire 2nd XI against Surrey. I was pleased with it because they had a good attack and they really tested me. Injury you had? Towards the end of the season just gone, I injured my lower back on the left side. That restricted me from bowling for a bit. Trophy you won? It was probably the Swindon Indoor Cricket Association Batsman of the Year. I have not won an outdoor trophy since I was about 16.

The Jury’s Out

Tea or coffee? Coffee. I prefer iced coffee, but I do drink coffee when I am tired. Your last meal if you were on death row? I think I would go for a mixed grill. Lots of meat in there, I am a big fan of all food to be honest! 50-over, T20 or County Championship? 100 per cent the T20. It is more entertaining and in terms of playing I prefer the intensity.

Time added on

Who did you support as a boy? Growing up I didn’t really support anyone, but as soon as I joined Hampshire when I was 15 then they became the team I supported. Best coach you have ever played with? It has got to Hampshire’s batting coach Tony Middleton. He lets you get on with it and work stuff out for yourself, but when he does talk he certainly knows his stuff. Who’s the most nervous person when next into bat? It is probably one of the younger lads when I was in the academy, I’ll go with Tom Scriven. Person to avoid after being dismissed? Definitely Tom Alsop. He slams a few things around when he has been dismissed. One rule you would change? I would introduce a tea break between the T20 innings. We get 10 minutes at the moment, but I think with the intensity of the game it would be good to have a bit of time to grab something to eat and have time to recover. Favourite pundit? I love Bumble, David Lloyd. I follow him on Twitter and I love how blunt he is with people who abuse him on there. He always says something that is short and to the point to shut people up. The way he commentates is also very funny. I also enjoyed Freddie Flintoff being part of the T20 team this season as he is my idol. Do you have any superstitions? I don’t have any. I am not someone who puts my pads on in a certain way or anything like that. Whatever I feel is right at the time is what I do. Hobbies? I love playing golf. I like playing football as well to stay fit. I don’t play as much now due to the injury risk, but I do enjoy a kickabout with my mates now and again. Away from sport, I enjoy socialising with my friends.

And finally

Who is the worst dressed player at the club? I would have to say Tom Scriven again. A few times his shoes have been atrocious and he has a few funny looking hoodies.
