TALENTED ODDBALL
Sir Mark Rylance lectures Sadler’s Wells over its sponsorship deal with a big bank, highlighting the lack of green credentials on the latter’s part. He and fellow signatories helpfully, though perhaps vaguely, suggest the contract should be “replaced by sustainable arts sponsorship”. After so many financially awful months, what better time to listen to Mark and his friends now demanding you bite the hand that feeds you! *PS: I’ve also been asked to clarify that should any morally questionable individual/ multinational organisation wish to assist other underfunded theatrical endeavours, arrangements can definitely be made.
