Clean the del­i­cate spines of an old man cac­tus with a soft, dry paint­brush.

Wear gloves when deal­ing with cacti – their fine spines can ir­ri­tate the skin.

Mist the fid­dle-leaf fig in warmer months, and make sure the soil has dried out be­tween wa­ter­ings – or it might drop its leaves.
