Look for a property that sits comfortably in its own plot, preferably surrounded on all sides by private garden/land.

Don’t assume you have to compromise on outside space – it is possible to find smaller properties with larger plots. Avoid anything that looks like it has been over-extended.

If a house doesn’t have a wowfactor in terms of size, look for other elements that will make an impact; view, architecture, or a spectacular living space.

Look for flexibility; the possibility to extend the property, convert secondary buildings, or build a studio, office or playroom in the garden. Don’t compromise on location. For more advice, contact Stacks Property Search and Acquisition: 01594 842880;
