The weekly roundup
All you need to know about what’s happened in property this week
Estate agents will no longer be allowed to operate a scam called “portal juggling”, which experts say inflates house prices by 10 per cent or more. Agents are now banned from relisting properties (on websites such as Rightmove) that have been on the market for some time, which helps them to hide price cuts and gives the impression a property is new to the market when it is not. Agents caught relisting old properties could be prosecuted or prevented from trading.
