THE 2018 CHURCHILL AWARDS
Your chance to get involved
Did you see an epic performance by one of Britain’s finest actors this year, but it wasn’t given the plaudits it deserved? Now’s your chance to right that wrong.
The Telegraph invites its readers to nominate the 65-and-older stars behind their favourite cinematic and theatrical performances from the last year.
The Churchill Awards, now in their seventh year, recognise the significant role that over-65s play in British society. The categories include: Art; Business; Contribution to Charity; Literature; Military; Music; Politics; Science and Environment; Sport; Stage and Screen; and Television and Radio. Readers are invited to submit nominations for the Stage and Screen category; last year’s winner was Sir David Jason (pictured).
“The Churchill Awards highlight everything the over-65s contribute to our society, and the huge amount they still have to offer,” says Spencer McCarthy, chairman and chief operating officer of Churchill Retirement Living. “The awards have gone from strength to strength, and I’m looking forward to seeing The Daily
Telegraph readers’ nominations for a star of stage and screen who has shown they’re still at the top of their game during 2018.”
The Stage and Screen award has recognised Sir Roger Moore, Dame Judi Dench and Dame Helen Mirren. Submit a short paragraph giving the reason for your nomination before Oct 29. A panel of judges will determine the winners. Send nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org.
