This Arena profile attempts to get to grips with the mystery that is Cindy Sherman, the New York artist (no, no, not a photographer, no!) who, as one contributor puts it, “Has for 40 years been dressing up and putting on make-up and taking photos of herself – imaginary photos of imaginary people.” This is Sherman’s first on-camera interview in a decade, though she refused to be filmed for it, obviously.
