The second instalment of this docu-series celebrating the resilience of British civilians during the Second World War focuses on preparations for, and the arrival of, the Blitz. Packed with archive footage and comments from those who lived through it, it includes the visceral recollection of one woman living in ‘Bomb Alley’ who remembers diving into a gutter, with her mother on top, as a Nazi plane flew over. “This was how it was,” she shrugs. “You didn’t think anything of it.”
