Steven Spielberg’s thrilling adaptation of Michael Crichton’s novel was truly revolutionary in the special-effects department,

if not quite so novel as a story. In essence, on a remote Costa Rican island, men bring dinosaurs back to life, dinosaurs escape in anger, dinosaurs chase men. The frights, some of Spielberg’s best since Jaws, may be too much for young children; watch out for the raptors.
