The story of Dr Norman Borlaug, winner of the 1970 Nobel Peace Prize and father of the “Green Revolution”, is a fascinating one as this thoughtful film makes clear. A scientist from Iowa, Borlaug created a high-yield, fungusresistant variety of wheat estimated to have saved countless people from dying of starvation. Yet his methods were not without controversy and the film also looks at the fall-out of his later years. SH
