LAST CHRISTMAS

Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding star in this loopy romantic comedy written by Bryony Kimmings and Emma Thompson, who also stars. Clarke plays a struggling singer, recently recovered from a heart transplant, who works as an elf in a Christmas shop. She strikes up a relationship with a mysterious stranger (Golding), who inspires her to reflect upon and improve her life. It’s saccharine and clichéd, but with a certain festive warmth.
