FA Cup: Manchester City v Chelsea SNOOKER The World Championship
Sat, BBC One, 4.45pm
Defending champions Manchester City take on Chelsea at Wembley in the opening FA Cup semi-final (kick-off 5.15pm). On Sunday, Manchester United take on Coventry City in the other semi-final (ITV1, 2.30pm). The Red Devils reached the final last season but were beaten by City. Should both Manchester clubs prevail, it will be only the second time two sides have faced each other in consecutive FA Cup finals – it happened in 1884 and 1885, with Blackburn Rovers beating Queens Park on both occasions. In the Premier League title race, Arsenal play Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday (Sky Main Event, 7.15pm), ahead of their clash with Chelsea on Tuesday
(TNT Sports 1, 7pm). Liverpool face Fulham on Sunday (Sky Main Event, 4pm), before the Merseyside Derby against Everton on Wednesday (Sky Main Event, 7pm). City visit Brighton on Thursday (Sky Main Event, 7.30pm).
Sat, BBC Two, 10am
The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield hosts the most prestigious tournament in snooker – despite Ronnie O’Sullivan’s calls for it to be moved to Saudi Arabia. O’Sullivan is aiming to extend his record of seven World Championship titles,
currently shared with Stephen Hendry. Following his victories at the Masters and UK Championship, O’Sullivan has the opportunity to complete the first Triple Crown of his career. The Rocket’s opening match takes place on Wednesday (BBC Two, 1pm). Defending champion Luca Brecel is first up on Saturday (BBC Two, 10am).
