HOW TO UP YOUR PRODUCTIVITY LEVELS THE ‘ONE-TOUCH’ RULE

hurry home to update your road tax before it runs out because you forgot all about it), open the letter, see you have road tax to pay, open your laptop and settle the bill there and then.

If you’re in a rush, then wait until you have a block of time where you’ll be able to tackle whatever is inside the pile. It’s a rigid framework so it doesn’t work for everything – especially when it comes to longer projects – but it does work really well for paperwork and equally annoying errands, plus inboxes. Don’t open your inbox unless there’s enough time on the clock for you to clear it. A good rule for those whose inbox was at zero this morning, but perhaps not the rule for you if your inbox count was 4,387 when you last checked.

THE ‘THREE TASKS A DAY’ RULE

Feeling better already? Brilliant. Either crack on with your plans, adding any to-dos to your schedule, dates to your diary and getting on task, or sit back and relax if you feel the stress has melted away and exited your brain for now.

THE LIFE CHECKLIST

Begin work on a budget. Start by tracking all your income and outgoings with the view to having a firm budget set up in six months’ time.

START BEING NICE TO YOURSELF! Rest when you need it, nourish yourself well and move every day. Plan out your dinners for the week ahead and get an early night.

Do a digital detox and try not to throw your phone in the sea when it’s over (there’s a high possibility you may want to). Participate in these detoxes regularly.

Say no to the next occasion that comes up that you really, really want to say no to. It’s freeing and is the key to finding peace and happiness in your schedule.

Switch off the noise for 15 minutes and have a think about what goals you’d like to make for yourself. Pin them up, look at them daily and use them as your motivation.
