Rules for woodlanders
hTypically, woodland or woodland-edge spring perennials prefer a moist, humus-rich soil in dappled rather than full shade.
If your soil is dry or free-draining, incorporate lots of organic mulchy matter and top with a deep layer of rotted bark or leaf mould in summer each year.
Buy plants when actively growing and water well after planting.
Allow foliage to die back before cutting to ground level.
