HOW TO FEAST al fresco
The menu
Choose dishes with big flavours as delicate tastes are lost on a breezy day. Make sure that most of the menu can be prepared ahead.
Being outdoors makes you thirsty, so pick a good non-alcoholic drink.
The table
A candle-powered hotplate is useful. For table decorations, our stylist Valerie Berry painted quail’s eggs and hen’s eggs with green food colouring.
Keep snug
Keep blankets, wraps and jumpers close by, and put cushions on seats.
