RE-WILD YOUR GARDEN

-

Encouraging more biodiversity in your garden can occupy the kids and teach them about the ecosystems crisis. And water is a great way to increase the number of habitats on your patch.

A Corten steel bowl can be used as both a water feature or drinking vessel for local birds and mammals, says garden designer Jonathan Todd (jtoddgardendesign.co.uk). The next step is to create a mini pond from an old ceramic sink that has been sunk into the ground. You’ll need small pond plants, gravel and rocks, too, according to the RSPB. You can hope to attract water lice, pond skaters and damselflies.
