Reynolds revs up firm’s sales after endorsing motorbike

- By Craig Simpson

FROM curry houses to football clubs, Ryan Reynolds, the Hollywood star, has a Midas touch when it comes to unexpected endorsements.

The actor has now shared his appreciation for a Coventry motorbike manufacturer, leading to the brand being inundated with sales inquiries.

He had posted online to say that a bike created by the Black Country company Arc was the “coolest” he had ever ridden, and its chairman, Mark Truman, since reported a “huge increase” in sales inquiries following the endorsement.

The latest intervention from Reynolds comes after he became co-owner of Wrexham football club in North Wales, and brought in custom for a curry house in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, after telling his 50million social media followers than it served “the best Indian food in Europe”.

Reynolds had requested a custom motorbike from Arc, but did not want any celebrity privileges, with Mr Truman saying: “He didn’t want to jump the queue.

“And he wanted to pay full price. Ryan told us that ‘the bike blew his mind’.

“When he was a little kid, he’d imagined what it would be like to be Superman flying just above the ground and this was the closest he’d ever get.”

Reynolds took delivery of an Arc Vector, an electric bike custom-built to specification from customers, which start at £90,000 and have a top speed of around 125mph.

The actor had requested that hemp, an eco-friendly material, be used in the design.

The actor, best known for his role in Deadpool, has become renowned for his

lucrative interventions in the fortunes of small businesses, including the gin brand Aviation in Portland, Oregon.

At an even more local level, Reynolds declared on social media after watching Wrexham in 2022, that he had dined on take-away from the Light Of India curry house in Ellesmere Port.

The Canadian star, who is married to Blake Lively, the Hollywood actress, declared it “best Indian food in Europe”, and following a surge in orders, the owner said that he “might rename a dish after him, the Deadpool masala or something”.
