Moore on the Ballydoyle battalion
Anthony Van Dyck
A lovely horse who won a Group Two at two and ran well in the National Stakes and Dewhurst. I could not have been happier with him at Lingfield [in the Derby trial]. He ticks a lot of boxes.
Got better and better at two and ran well in the Lagardere. He has come out and won two trials impressively. Has a massive chance.
Cape Of Good Hope
He won his trial at Epsom, and is a brother to our best horse of recent times, Highland Reel. Stepping up in distance will suit him.
He is very well bred. He was Group One placed behind Magna Grecia at two, won his trial at Chester, I think he will take a big step forward.
Has not won a trial but he is a lovely, lovely colt. He was a bit behind the others and only just ready to start in the Dante at York this month, where I rode him with the Derby in mind. He has got to step forward to beat Telecaster but will benefit from the trip. A beautiful horse, and uncomplicated.
He was a good two-year-old but, though he is entitled to be there, Sir Dragonet kicked him out of the way at Chester.
No one was talking about him six weeks ago but you could only be impressed. We will not know if he was flattered in his trial at Chester, they went fast on soft ground, but he had to come around them all and was very impressive. Bookies’ favourite says a lot.
Placed in two trials but better than they give him credit for.
