Roger Charlton’s exciting filly Quadrilateral, a daughter of Frankel, galloped to head of antepost lists for next year’s 1000 Guineas at Newbury on Friday when she won a competitive conditions race by nine lengths and Newmarket is her next port of call.

Charlton is not ruling out the possibility of supplementing her for the Group One Fillies’ Mile, at a cost of £40,000, but is currently in favour of running at Group Three level on the same card.

He said: “She is really good – and all being well, she will head to Newmarket for either the Fillies’ Mile or, more likely, the Oh So Sharp Stakes. I think we would probably prefer to keep her at seven furlongs for the time being.”
