Gareth Bale has said he is playing with “anger” as he looks to lead Wales to a much-needed victory in their crucial Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia.

Bale, who came close to leaving Real Madrid for China this summer after falling out with manager Zinedine Zidane, had forced his way back into his club side before he was dropped for a Champions League match last week.

“You play with a lot of emotion,” Bale said. “Anger comes into it. I am just trying to play football and enjoy it as much as I can, whether I am here or in Madrid.”

Bale added: “I love meeting up with Wales, everybody knows that. We have a chance to qualify for the Euros and this is a massive game.”

Ryan Giggs will once again be missing Aaron Ramsey in Slovakia tonight. The Juventus midfielder has stayed behind in an attempt to be fit for Sunday’s match against Croatia. There are also doubts over

the fitness of Tom Lawrence and Harry Wilson. Giggs hopes there will be no repeat of the racist chants from Slovakia fans which nearly caused this match to be played behind closed doors.
