Mckay faces trial

Willie Mckay, the for­mer foot­ball agent, will stand trial next year ac­cused of spend­ing more than £60,000 on a Rolex and a Jaguar car as gifts for his wife while he was bank­rupt.

The 60-year-old Scot, who booked Emil­iano Sala’s doomed flight to Cardiff in Jan­u­ary, ap­peared in court yes­ter­day to deny two counts of “fraud­u­lent dis­posal of prop­erty” un­der the In­sol­vency Act. Mckay was granted con­di­tional bail at Leeds Crown Court and will face trial next Septem­ber.
